One Million Birtu was established to address Ethiopia’s challenges in the energy, agriculture, education, and health sectors through innovative solutions and to empower the rural community through strategic interventions that address their needs.
Founded in 2025, One Million Birtu (OMB) is an Ethiopian not-for-profit with a bold vision: a resilient Ethiopia powered by clean, affordable, and reliable energy.
We believe energy access is a catalyst for development.
Our mission is to impact one million lives by promoting clean energy that empowers farms, businesses, and social infrastructure like clinics and schools. We work holistically—not just deploying technology but also facilitating financing, building local capacity, and fostering knowledge exchange.
Guided by values of Impact, Inclusiveness, and Partnership, we co-create solutions with communities to ensure they are equitable, sustainable, and transformative, aligning with Ethiopia&Apos;s national goals and Sustainable Development Goal 7.
